Trenton Speedway

Trenton, New Jersey  ·  Closed 1980

Trenton Speedway was a mile and a half of oddball genius up in New Jersey, a kidney-bean oval with a 20-degree right-hand dogleg cut straight into the backstretch. Grand National came north eight times, and Richard Petty owned the place with three wins in the Northern 300. The gates closed in 1980, and today the old speedway grounds are a sculpture park. Not many tracks trade horsepower for bronze.
