Before the Magic Mile, Loudon was Bryar Motorsports Park, a 1.6-mile, ten-turn road course Keith Bryar finished in June 1965 on the site of a quarter-mile dirt oval called 106 Midway Raceway. It got by for twenty-five years on motorcycle weekends, and Bryar admitted the racing there made just barely enough to cover expenses. Bob Bahre bought it for $950,000 in December 1989, bulldozed it, and put a superspeedway where the road course used to run. Cup cars go back to that ground Sunday.
