Langhorne Speedway in Pennsylvania was one continuous mile of dirt with no straightaways, a giant circle they called the Big Left Turn. Curtis Turner won a race there in NASCAR's very first Strictly Stock season in 1949, and Fireball Roberts, Herb Thomas and the Flock brothers all wrestled its cursed "Puke Hollow." It was the most feared track in America, and the bulldozers took it for a shopping center in 1971. Some places you don't get back.
